DMCA Policy

Manytoon respects the intellectual property rights of authors, artists, publishers, copyright owners, and other rights holders. This DMCA Policy explains how copyright owners or their authorized representatives may report material that they believe infringes their rights.

Manytoon reviews copyright complaints submitted in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, commonly known as the DMCA, and other applicable intellectual property laws.

Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to copyright complaints involving material that is available on or accessible through Manytoon. This may include comic pages, illustrations, text, translations, images, descriptions, links, or other content appearing on the website.

The DMCA process is intended specifically for copyright claims. Complaints involving trademarks, privacy, defamation, impersonation, or other legal matters should be submitted through the Contact Us page with a clear explanation of the issue.

Before Submitting a Copyright Notice

Before sending a DMCA notice, please confirm that you own the copyright in the material or are legally authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

You should also consider whether the disputed use may be authorized by the rights holder or permitted by law, including under an applicable copyright exception or limitation. A DMCA notice should not be used to remove content merely because it is unfavorable, critical, or unwanted.

If you are uncertain whether material infringes your rights, consider obtaining advice from a qualified intellectual property professional before submitting a notice.

How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that copyrighted material has been used on Manytoon without authorization, send a written notice to our designated copyright agent. To support an efficient review, your notice must include substantially the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • If the complaint covers multiple works, a representative list of those works.
  • Identification of the material claimed to be infringing.
  • The exact URL or other information reasonably sufficient to help Manytoon locate the disputed material.
  • Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
  • A statement made under penalty of perjury that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

General descriptions of the website, screenshots without URLs, search-result pages, or incomplete references may not provide enough information for Manytoon to locate and review the disputed material.

What Happens After a Notice Is Received?

After receiving a substantially complete DMCA notice, Manytoon may review the complaint, request additional information, contact relevant parties, or investigate the identified material.

Where appropriate, Manytoon may remove the disputed material or disable access to it. We may also notify the person who provided or published the material and provide them with information about the complaint.

Removing or restricting material in response to a notice does not necessarily mean that Manytoon has made a final legal determination concerning ownership or infringement.

Incomplete or Invalid Notices

A copyright complaint may be delayed or rejected when it:

  • Does not identify the copyrighted work.
  • Does not provide the exact location of the disputed material.
  • Does not include sufficient contact information.
  • Does not contain the required good-faith or accuracy statements.
  • Is submitted by someone who does not own the rights or have authority to represent the owner.
  • Concerns an issue unrelated to copyright law.
  • Contains materially false, misleading, or fraudulent information.

Manytoon may contact the sender to request missing information but is not responsible for delays caused by an incomplete or inaccurate notice.

DMCA Counter-Notification

If material you provided was removed or disabled because of a DMCA notice and you believe the action resulted from a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification to Manytoon’s designated DMCA agent.

A valid counter-notification must include substantially the following information:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed or disabled.
  • The URL or location where the material appeared before it was removed or disabled.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification.
  • Your full name, mailing address, and telephone number.
  • A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States Federal District Court.
  • If your address is outside the United States, a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of a Federal District Court where the service provider may be found.
  • A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person’s authorized agent.

Send the completed counter-notification to the designated DMCA agent listed on this page.

Processing a Counter-Notification

If Manytoon receives a valid counter-notification, we may provide a copy to the party who submitted the original takedown notice.

The disputed material may be restored no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt of a compliant counter-notification, unless the original complainant informs Manytoon that a court action has been filed seeking to prevent restoration of the material.

Manytoon may decline to restore content when restoration would violate another website policy, applicable law, a court order, or the rights of another party.

Repeat Infringer Policy

Manytoon may restrict or terminate access for users, contributors, or account holders who repeatedly infringe copyright or repeatedly submit unauthorized copyrighted material.

When evaluating repeat infringement, Manytoon may consider the number and nature of valid complaints, counter-notifications, previous warnings, user conduct, and other relevant circumstances.

Manytoon may also remove content, restrict website features, suspend accounts, block access, or take other reasonable measures where necessary to protect intellectual property rights.

Misrepresentation and Abuse

DMCA notices and counter-notifications are formal legal communications. Knowingly making material misrepresentations about whether content is infringing or was removed by mistake may result in legal liability.

Manytoon may reject notices that appear fraudulent, abusive, automated without meaningful review, or intended to harass another person. We may also take action against anyone who repeatedly misuses the copyright reporting process.

Information Shared During the Process

Information submitted in a DMCA notice or counter-notification may be shared with the person who provided the disputed material, the original complainant, legal advisers, service providers, courts, government authorities, or other parties where reasonably necessary to process the claim or comply with legal obligations.

Do not include sensitive personal information that is not required for the copyright complaint.

Changes to This DMCA Policy

Manytoon may update this DMCA Policy to reflect changes in applicable law, website functions, reporting procedures, or operational practices.

Any revised version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Visitors are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
